Luftwaffe

A Royal Air Force commemorative cover issued in honour of Captain Albert Ball VC and featuring a colour image of aircraft in combat during World War I and with an inset portrait of Ball, individually signed by the Luftwaffe pilots of World War II Adolf Galland (1912-1996, German Fighter Pilot of World War II, Knight’s Cross winner with Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds) and Winfrid Schmidt (1915-2009, German Fighter Pilot of World War II, Knight’s Cross winner) and also signed by Eric Turnbull (1891-     , British Royal Air Force officer of World War I). All three have signed in bold inks with their names alone to clear areas of the cover. Limited edition created by Hans Rossbach and numbered 1 of 15 to the verso.
